Description
Brumstead Grange is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 17th century, although it has undergone significant alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features thatched roofs. The main block, which is from the 18th century, runs east-west and has a south elevation that is two storeys high with six bays. There is a late 20th-century door located in the second bay from the left, and the windows are late 20th-century casements designed to resemble 18th-century styles. The sixth bay is now concealed by a hipped two-storey structure built in 1961. The farmhouse has a gabled roof with internal end stacks and a ridge stack positioned to the left of the center. To the east, there is a two-storey gabled cross wing that retains some 17th-century features, constructed of flint and brick with a thatched roof, although all details are from the 20th century. The north internal gable end stack and ridge stack are also present.
