Description

No 2 Market Place is a two-storey building with an attic level, topped by a steep pantiled roof. The main north-facing elevation is made of limewashed brick. The roof features a sash dormer with glazing bars and a flat roof. On the first floor, there are two sash windows, also with glazing bars. The ground floor has a projecting wooden shop front, which includes interior Doric columns at the entrance. The shopfront is designed with glazing that incorporates mullions and transoms, along with shallow arched heads and spandrel detailing. To the left of the shopfront, there is a separate domestic entrance. Inside, the building features stop-chamfered beams. Nos 1 to 4 Market Place, in sequence, form a group with No 2 Yarmouth Road.
