Bridge, dated 1818, designed by William Hardy of Letheringsett Hall, (1770- 1842). Cast iron and gault brick. Upstream and downstream facades: segmental arch of gault brick with stepped string above of dark glazed chamfered brick, parapet of fat cast iron vase balusters with cast iron coping between 2 oblong brick piers with double iron caps; on both sides in the centre of each parapet a cast iron plaque inscribed "1818 / ERECTED / BY / SUBSCRIPTION / UNDER THE PLAN / AND / DIRECTION / OF W.H." Upstream parapet to south has splay walls of dark knapped flint with stone coping each ending in oblong brick pier with double cast iron cap.
