Description
This building, known as Nos 24 and 26 on The Street, is a house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates back to the 17th century and is constructed from pebble flint with brick dressings. The structure is two storeys high with attics.
On the ground floor, there are four 20th-century casement windows, while the first floor features three 20th-century casements and one late 19th-century casement. The southern part of the building (No. 24) includes a ground floor fireplace window set in a brick surround. There is a brick eaves cornice along the top of the building.
The northern gable displays stone and brick quoins, a fire window, two blocked attic windows, a kneeler, a parapet, and an end stack. There is an off-centre stack on the southern side, aligned with stone quoins that were previously part of the south gable.
To the rear of the building, there is a 17th-century extension that features two late 19th-century casements on the ground floor and a two-light casement in an original brick opening at eaves level on the first floor. The south parapet has been cemented. Additionally, No. 24 has two wooden mullioned windows at eaves level on the rear side.
