Description
Rose Cottages is a pair of cottages from the late 18th century, likely designed by Samuel Wyatt. Originally constructed as four back-to-back dwellings, the cottages are made of gault brick and feature slate roofs. The central block is two stories high with three bays and slightly advanced side wings that are one and a half stories tall. There is a central chimney stack along the ridge line, with gable chimneys in the side wings. The windows are two-light casements with glazing bars and have rubbed brick arches above them. The main block has blank central openings, and there is a plain brick band at the first-floor level in the central block. The entrance doors are located in the side wings, each with blank openings above. The right-hand wing features a gabled dormer with small casements in the gables.
