Description
Peach House is a conservatory dating from around the 1860s, originally located at Mannington Hall in Itteringham before being moved to its current site about 140 meters southeast of Wolterton Hall in 1904-1905. The structure is made of wood and glass, featuring cast-iron piers set on a brick plinth, with an earlier English bond brick wall at the rear.
The conservatory has a rectangular plan consisting of three bays and two spans. The south front includes three bays with mullions and transoms, vertical glazing bars, and lapped glass panes. The twin gabled ends on the east and west sides are topped with ball finials and have both vertical and horizontal glazing bars for the rectangular panes. There is a doorway on the west end, and the rear north wall extends to the west, where a segmental-headed doorway is located.
Inside, the moulded arcade plate at the central valley is supported by three slender cast-iron columns, which have fluted pedestals and composite capitals, along with ornate pierced spandrels featuring arabesque designs.
