THORNAGE THE STREET, TG 03 NE (East side) 2/131 Barns at Town Farm with attached stable range GV II

Range of 2 barns and stables along roadside. Barn to north-east, C18 of coursed flint with brick dressings under pantiles. 5 bays, central openings with extended porch south-east to yard. Square honeycombed vents. Wide brick capped flint plinth, dentil cornice. North-east gable with patterned brickwork of hearts. Roof of two tiers of purlins, collars and arched tie beams, some common rafters renewed. Attached barn to south-west of coursed flint under corrugated tiles. South-west gable with patterned brick work. Continuous outshut to both barns on south-east yard side. Long single storey range attached to south-west. Road front of flint courses alternating with courses of 2 flints and one brick header, repeating. One door to road with unglazed light above having close vertical bars. South-west gable of header bond. South-east front to left of brick, English bond below, header bond above, to right of coursed brick and flint mosaic pierced by doors.
