Description

Town Farm House is a 17th-century house, with 19th-century additions, originally a farmhouse. It has rendered walls and a pantile roof, forming a single range. The original plan was a two-cell lobby entrance, to which there are side and rear additions. The house is two storeys and has an attic. An axial stack is positioned off-centre, with a further stack at the right-hand end of a right-hand extension. A rendered plinth is present, along with an off-centre front door. The windows are flush sashes with 5 panes of glazing bars to the ground floor, some featuring cylinder glass, and 4 windows with varied glazing to the first floor. Single-storey extensions are located to the right, and there is a two-storey 19th-century outshut to the rear. Inside, a wide chimney bay features large fireplaces in 17th-century brick, one of which has been rebuilt. There are chamfered beams and a butt-purlin roof with collars and some bracing. A dairy is situated within the north-west outshut, featuring arches and slabs.
