Description

Church Cottage, located approximately 30 meters south of the Church of All Saints, is a house that may have served as an early parsonage, dating from the late 16th century. It is constructed of carstone with brick dressings, featuring very large carstone blocks at the base and a pantile roof with gable parapets. The building consists of a single cell with one storey and an attic, along with a lower single-storey, one-bay addition to the left and a continuous outshut addition at the rear.

The front facade includes one three-light casement window beneath a segmental head, which has remnants of a brick hood mould, and two gabled roof dormers. There is a large internal stack on the left gable with linked lozenge shafts. The lower single cell bay to the left has a three-light casement under a square brick hood mould, and there is a stack on the left gable with an octagonal brick shaft dating from the mid-19th century, designed in the Castle Rising Estate style. The entrance is located to the left of the right return, featuring a basket arch made of chamfered brick leading to an internal porch, and there is a small two-light casement to the right with a square hood mould. Inside, there is a stair located at the front of the stack.
