Description

The Cottage near Church is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features a timber frame set on a red brick plinth and is stuccoed with scoring to resemble ashlar. The roof is glazed with pantiles. The building consists of two cells and is two storeys high, with an offset plinth. The entrance is slightly to the left of the centre, featuring a recessed six raised panelled door within a pilastered doorcase that has roundels in the entablature. The ground floor has three-light flush metal frame casements from the 19th century, with hoodboards above. There is an internal stack at the left end and an external stack at the right end, which has small offsets and a pantiled oven projection. At the rear, there is a one-storey and attic continuous lean-to outshut.
