Description

Ringstead Bury House is a former rectory built around 1800. The building features a brick front and east gable, with the west gable made of coursed carstone, and the rear constructed from coursed and galleted clunch and carstone. It has red pantiled roofs and is two storeys high. The east side has a five-bay layout, while the west side has a four-bay layout. The house displays a simple Georgian domestic classical style.

On the east side, there are four ground floor and five first floor sash windows with glazing bars, along with central two-leaf French doors that also have glazing bars. The entrance is framed by 20th-century piers and an entablature forming an architrave. All openings feature flat rubbed brick arches, and the building has end strip pilasters, a white painted cornice, and coped end gables with brick stacks.

The west side has three ground floor and four first floor sash windows, with a 20th-century part-glazed door that has glazing bars, located off centre. The ground floor openings are all under flat rubbed brick arches, and there is a wooden eaves cornice, a single ridge stack, and a hipped end gable. The east gable has a single-storey porch addition with a flat-roofed wooden canopied porch supported by columns, which may have been reused.
