Description

This is a 16th-century farmhouse, with alterations made in later centuries. The house is constructed of carstone and brick, with some areas rendered and colourwashed. It has a pantile roof. Significant 16th-century fabric remains on the north and south sides, extending up to the first floor. The north side has a 20th-century battlemented porch positioned to the left of center. Various 18th-century casement windows are scattered across the façade, beneath a gabled roof. A central 16th-century brick ridge stack of square form features a side flue. An internal stack in the east gable, dating back to the 16th century, has been rebuilt with double diamond flues. The west gable contains an 18th-century internal stack. The south side has been significantly altered. The south-facing windows are arranged without a clear pattern. The west gable shows 18th-century tumbling. The east gable includes set-offs at the first floor and eaves level, along with moulded kneelers and six blocked windows situated under square hoods with label stops.
