Description
The garden wall, including gate piers, is attached to the east side of Ingoldisthorpe Old Hall Farmhouse and dates from around 1700. It is constructed from carstone laid in tiles with some brick dressings, featuring triangular section carstone coping on the north and east faces. The south and west faces are made of high-quality brick in Flemish bond. At the northeast corner, there are two rusticated brick piers, although one is now filled in with brick. The southeast pier has a rusticated brick shaft, a moulded brick plinth and cornice, and a brick rebate, topped with a stone cornice and pedestal that supports a stone roundel. This structure is included for its group value with Ingoldisthorpe Old Hall Farmhouse.
