Description
The gate piers and garden wall located to the east of Holywell Hall date from the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed of narrow hand-made brick in an irregular English garden wall bond. The wall features stone coping, while the gate piers have stone bases and caps. The pair of gate piers stands approximately 3.5 meters tall, with moulded bases and corniced caps, positioned near the north return of the house. The tall wall, which has a projecting flat coping, extends eastward for about 30 meters. A similar short section of wall connects the piers to the house. This structure is included for its group value. A partly rebuilt continuation of the wall at right angles beyond the east end is not considered of special interest.
