Description

Holland House is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of Chequers Street, Docking. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a black glazed pantiled roof. The house is two storeys high and has six bays. The ground floor has three regularly spaced sash windows with glazing bars to the east, one door opening, and one irregularly spaced sash window with glazing bars to the west. Six regularly spaced sash windows with glazing bars are located on the first floor, each set beneath a flat rubbed brick arch. The front door is positioned off-centre and features a six-panel design, an architrave surround, a three-light rectangular fanlight, and a moulded gable canopy pentice supported by brackets. A brick plinth sits at ground floor level, and a dentil course with moulded brick eaves runs along the top of the house. There is one ridge stack and one west eaves stack. The east return, forming an 'L' shape, includes a first-floor casement window with lead upper panes.
