Description

The Hare Public House is a mid-17th century public house located on Station Road in Docking. The front facade is stucco-rendered, while the rear is constructed of brick and clunch. The roof is covered with red pantiles. The building is two storeys high with attics, and has four windows. It follows a lobby entrance plan on the south side. The ground floor features a central sash window with glazing bars. Two wider openings contain plate glass sashes also with glazing bars. Four first-floor sash windows have glazing bars. An axial, boarded door provides access, and two gabled dormer windows contain two-light casements. A central brick stack is visible. The south gable is clunch rendered and plastered, while the north end features a brick coped parapet. An early 19th century two-storey, two-window addition is present to the north, featuring a ground floor sash window with glazing bars and a large three-light casement cross window. Two long first-floor sashes have glazing bars. The building is attached to stocks.
