Description

No 38 on High Street, also known as Bennett, is a building likely from the 18th century that has been altered. It is constructed of carstone and red brick, with buff brick on the facade. The building is two stories high and features a low parapet above a cornice. On the first floor, there are two sash windows that no longer have glazing bars. To the right, there is a canted casement bow window with a cill band on the first floor. An elliptical arched vehicle entrance is located on the left, complete with key and springing blocks. To the right, there is a wide modern shop front. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 26 to 38 (even) and Nos 48 and 50.
