Description
The barn at Station Farm, dating from the 17th century and marked with the date 1767, is constructed from galleted coursed carstone rubble with brick dressings and a pantile roof. It features five bays, with the east facade showcasing a large central doorway with wooden doors and four vertical slits. The south side has been rebuilt in brick, while the north side boasts a high gable parapet with brick tumbling-in and a datestone at the apex inscribed "H H / 1767". The barn has a raised raking roof above the west doorway.
Inside, the barn contains a 17th-century three-tier roof with half staggered purlins, where the lowest tier is braced, along with collars and ties. The tie beams are complemented by 18th-century wall posts and braces, and there is a raised roof above the west doorway that is supported by earlier framing. There is a lean-to on the north side, an east porch, and covered yards to the west made of corrugated iron, which are of no special interest. The farmhouse associated with the barn is not listed.
