Description
Anchorage House is a house built around 1800. It is constructed of plum-coloured brick and has a 20th-century replacement concrete pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, following a double pile plan. On the ground floor, there are two four-pane sash windows, while the first floor features three three-pane sash windows, all with glazing bars and set under flat rubbed brick arches.
The house has a central wooden columnar porch supported by two columns and two antae, topped with an entablature and a flat roof. The entrance includes a two-leaf part-glazed door. The design incorporates two end strip pilasters, with the central bay slightly projecting forward. A moulded wooden eaves cornice runs along the top, which is broken forward over the pilasters and the central bay, returning to the north and south sides. The roof is hipped and features two ridge stacks.
