Description
The Primitive Methodist Ebenezer Chapel is a Methodist chapel built in 1862. It features a facade made of gault and red brick with a slate roof. The building is two stories high and has a three-bay facade with three bay returns. On the ground floor, there are two arched-headed sash windows with margin light glazing bars, and on the first floor, there are two more arched-headed sash windows along with a circular arch L'oeil de boeuf window that has sunburst glazing bars. The entrance consists of a two-panel raised and fielded door topped by a replacement clear glass fanlight. All openings are adorned with rubbed brick arches, and there is a datestone located above the door. The ground floor has a plinth, with two end pilasters and a central bay expressed as one broad pilaster, all of which are brought forward. The chapel has a projecting eaves cornice with dentils and a hipped roof. The three bay red brick returns are divided by strip pilasters and feature three arched-headed windows, which may have replaced a previous two-story window arrangement around 1880.
