Description
Houghton Hall West Lodge, located on Houghton Road in Great Bircham, is a Grade II listed building dating from around 1830. This single-storey lodge is rectangular in shape with four equilateral sides and features a whitewashed plaster render and a slate roof. On the west side, there is one sash window with glazing bars and an arched upper sash. The south side has a door surrounded by trellis work and topped with a pentice canopy. Each of the four equilateral gables is adorned with deep, simplified baseless Tuscan pediments, with the base line highlighted by short horizontal eaves that clasp the corners. The lodge also includes a central stack.
