Description

Hall Farm Barn, also known as Home Farm Barn, is a farm barn dating from the mid-18th century, attributed to the architect William Kent. The barn features attached ranges on the east and west that create courtyards. It is constructed of red brick with red pantiled roofs. The central barn is two storeys tall with a gabled roof, while the stable ranges on either side are single storey with hipped roofs.

The north facade has a central pedimented gable that aligns with the pedimented gable of Hall Farmhouse. There are two inserted 20th-century corrugated iron doors on the east side, along with a first-floor three-light fixed casement window. The gable has a verged pediment and cornice eaves that return. The single storey range to the west includes a single boarded door and two three-light fixed casements, while the east side has a single boarded door, one two-light opening casement with glazing bars, and one inserted 19th-century segmental arched casement. This barn is a notable example of Kent's style of farm architecture and is included for its group value.
