Description
No. 6 Hall Quay is a shop built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and has a roof made of black-glazed pantiles. The building stands two storeys high and features a wide window range. The shop front is an impressive early 19th-century design, consisting of a tripartite sash window with 8/8 and 2/2 glazing bars. Above this window is a glazed hollow-diamond overlight. To the right of the shop front, there are a pair of fluted engaged Ionic columns that frame the entrance. A third column to the left has been removed, leaving only its base. The entrance door has two lower panels and two upper glazed panels, topped with a geometric overlight. The building is finished with a modillion cornice, and the first floor has another tripartite sash window with the same glazing pattern. It has a low parapet and a gabled roof, with an internal gable-end stack shared with No. 5 Hall Quay. Inside, the front ground-floor room features a fireplace with narrow fluted columns.
