Description
No. 3 George Street is a shop built in the late 18th century. It features colourwashed brick and has a front roof made of plain tiles, while the rear roof is covered with pantiles. The building consists of two parallel ranges and stands three storeys tall with a dormer attic, displaying a two-window range. The late 19th-century shop front includes plate glass and a recessed central entrance. On the first floor, there are two 2/2 horned sash windows in renewed boxes that are set flush with the wall. These windows, along with two similar ones on the second floor, are topped with gauged skewback arches. The building has a timber modillion eaves cornice and mansard roofs, both of which have their north gable heads rebuilt in 20th-century Fletton bricks. Each roof features a sloping dormer fitted with 2-light casements, and a stack rises from the central valley. The interior has not been inspected.
