Description

Repps with Bastwick War Memorial is a First World War memorial, built around 1920, with additions for the Second World War. It is made of grey granite and is located in the churchyard of the Church of St Peter and St Paul on Church Street in Repps, Norfolk. The memorial stands prominently at the northern edge of the churchyard, near the northern entrance gate. It features a polished grey granite Latin cross atop a three-tiered plinth with a simple base. The plinth has inscriptions in incised and blacked lettering.

The inscription reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ THE GIVER OF VICTORY AND/ IN SACRED MEMORY OF THE MEN/ OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR/ LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1918/ (NAMES)/ “THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE” ECCLUS. XLIV.14// 1939 – 1945/ (NAMES)."
