Description

The font at Tower House is a composite structure built from fragments believed to originate from St. Peter’s Chapel, dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. It is constructed of ashlar. The font has a square, cross-shaped base, which is chamfered to create an octagonal shape, with stop-angles supporting the pier base. The pier base is hexagonal and features a frieze of two encircled quatrefoils on each facet. This supports a plain octagonal font bowl. Tower House itself is not listed.
