Description
The ruins of St Peter's Chapel are the remains of a parish church dating from the early 14th century. The chapel was restored and floored between 1905 and 1906. It is constructed of flint and brick, featuring ashlar quoins, but currently has no roof. The only surviving structure is the square tower, which stands at four storeys and is unbuttressed. The brick tower arch reveals an arch to the east. The ringing chamber windows are designed with encircled quatrefoils within square surrounds, and there is a set-off below the belfry stage. The belfry has two-light 14th-century windows that retain little tracery, and gargoyles can still be seen at the parapet.
