Description
157 and 157A King Street is a mid-18th century house and shop, with its facade rebuilt in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed red brick and features pantile roofs. It has three storeys and a single-window range. The shop front, which dates from the mid-20th century, is made of plate glass. On the first floor, there is one 2/2 horned sash window under a gauged skewback arch, and on the second floor, there is one 8/8 unhorned sash window, both with exposed boxes. The roof is hipped. At the rear, there is a gabled wing that is two storeys high with an attic, and it has a platband at the second floor level of the west gable. The windows in this wing are from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
