Description
No. 158 King Street is a house dating from around 1830 that has been converted into a shop in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a pantiled roof. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The late 20th-century shop front is accompanied by two recessed 6/6 horned sash windows on each floor above, which are set under gauged skewback arches. A timber eaves cornice with paired mutules adds detail to the roof, which is hipped. The south side of the building, along Row 93, has a blocked shop display window and a blocked doorway. At the rear, there is a three-storey gabled wing. The interior of the ground floor has been opened out into one space in the late 20th century, but the rest of the interior has not been inspected.
