Description
This is a house located at 20 Wellington Road in Great Yarmouth, built between 1860 and 1880. It is constructed from gault brick and has a roof made of corrugated concrete tiles. The house has three storeys and features a two-window range. The right-hand bay is a full-height canted window bay, with the ground floor containing one-over-one and two-over-two horned sash windows. To the left, there is a door set behind a stuccoed doorcase that is topped with a hood supported by scrolled consoles.
On the first floor, there is a bowed cast-iron balcony that is held up by scrolled brackets and circular fluted standards, leading to flat-arched foliated braces. Above the balcony, there is a sloping zinc canopy over two French windows. The side cants of the window bay have late 20th-century top-hung casements, while the second floor features late 20th-century centre-hung casements. The house has a modillion eaves cornice and a gabled roof.
The interior was refurbished in the late 20th century, which included a replacement staircase.
