Description
Rookwoods is a house built in the early 19th century, constructed from gault brick. It features a hipped grey slate roof with projecting eaves and carved brackets supporting the cornice. The building has three bays, with the central bay recessed and containing a porch and balcony. To the right, there is a recessed extension made of similar materials. The windows consist of a 1:1;1 arrangement of small paned vertically sliding sashes, which are topped with gauged stucco arches and shutters, except for the central first-floor window that has glazed double doors leading to the balcony, which is adorned with ornate cast iron railings. The porch is accessed by stone steps and is flanked by pilasters and central columns with moulded capitals and bases, along with a frieze and moulded cornice. The entrance features a panelled door with a segmental light above and side lights with glazing bars. The right extension has one window range and a part glazed door.
