The Sugar Loaves is a public house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It features an exposed timber frame with plaster infill and has a hipped red tiled roof. The building has red brick chimney stacks on the right, left, and center. It is two stories tall and has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. The ground floor left window is a 19th-century flat roofed oriel. There are central and right plank and muntin doors in plain surrounds, accessed by steps. The building includes halved wall braces and a 17th-century leaded window with pightle hooks on the right return. At the rear, there is a brick-faced wing.
