Description
Ocean Lodge Hotel, formerly known as Bauleah House, is a hotel that was originally built as a house in the early 19th century. It has extensive late 20th-century extensions at the rear. The facade is made of gault brick and features slate and concrete tile roofs. The building has two storeys and a four-window range overall.
On the left side, there is a plain block with one first-floor 6/6 unhorned sash window, accompanied by a blind window to its left. The facade has a low parapet with a stack that conceals a shallow hipped roof. To the right, there is a two-storey block that includes a full-height bow window with two 8/8 unhorned sashes on each floor, set under gauged skewback arches. The first-floor sashes are missing horizontal glazing bars. The building features a paired modillion eaves cornice and a low hipped roof. Between the two blocks, there is a 20th-century door located under a porch hood supported by a single column.
The interior of the hotel is plain and has been modernised.
