Description
Shrublands Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century and later. It is constructed of red brick, likely covering an earlier structure, and features a reed thatched roof with weatherboarded gables. The building has two storeys and an attic. The south facade includes two and three-light 19th century casement windows with transoms and segmental heads over the ground floor openings. There is an off-centre entrance that is sheltered by a 19th century gabled brick porch, which has a blocked semi-circular headed opening. A gault clay panel displays an 'RW' motif.
The house has a large axial stack that is off centre and T-shaped, with some flues partially capped off. Attic casements are present in the gables, which also feature decorated bargeboards. The north wall has two 20th century casements, and there is a rendered chimney stack at the north west corner.
