Description

The Grange is an 18th-century house, built of red brick with black-glazed pantile roofs. It comprises two phases of construction, with the right-hand block likely being the earlier. The left-hand block is lower and features a range of three windows. These windows are 19th-century casements, with two and three lights and transoms, set within segmental brick arches. A large ridge stack is positioned off-centre. The main entrance is opposite the stack, accessed via a projecting red brick porch with a crow-stepped gable. A simple doorcase frames the entrance. A 19th-century square bay window is located at the south-west corner, featuring corner buttresses and a stepped gable. The right-hand block is characterised by rusticated brick quoins, a wide eaves overhang with bracketed soffits, and a large internal gable chimney marking the junction between the two blocks. A platband runs along the east gable. Later fenestration and dormers have been added to the north side.
