Description
Pettywell Farm House is an early 18th-century red brick farmhouse with a smut pantile roof. It is situated on the Reepham Dereham Road. Originally, the south-west facade featured three windows, with a shallow central buttress and a corner buttress on the right. A central half-glazed door is framed by 19th-century reeded pilasters and consoles supporting a broken pediment. Sash windows, replaced in 1983, are set within original openings and have segmental brick arches.
A north-east wing, likely built around 1773, extends from the main body, with three bays visible on that elevation. This wing has two sash windows and one blank window at the first floor level, all with segmental brick arches. The south portion of the farmhouse has a hipped roof, whilst the west and north gables have parapets. The west parapet includes brick tumbling and the date 1773, while the north parapet has a blocked window.
Central axial stacks are present in each wing. The interior retains some 18th-century panelling. A rear outshut also exists.
