Description

The Aylsham War Memorial is made of granite and features a wheel-head cross on a moulded tapered square plinth, which is set on two shallow steps at the base. Three sides of the plinth are inscribed in black painted lettering with the dates 1914 – 1918 and the names of those commemorated.

Later additions to the memorial include a granite plaque inscribed with the words: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOURED MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY 1939 – 1945" along with additional names. There is also a reference to the Korean War, listing names from 1950 – 1953.
