Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory that primarily dates from the 19th century, although it has an 18th-century core. The building is constructed of colourwashed and rendered brick, topped with a black pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and features a two-storey outshut at the rear, along with a single-storey extension to the east. The principal facade faces south and is a 19th-century addition to the 18th-century house.
The facade includes four windows, three of which are canted bays with moulded cornices and flat roofs. The outer bays are wider than the inner bay. There is an oriel window on the first floor at the east end. The ground floor has three-light casement windows with transoms, all featuring diagonal glazing bars that create a lattice pattern. The entrance door is off-centre and includes a fanlight with lattice glazing bars. The building has stepped gables and an off-centre axial stack topped with 19th-century octagonal pots. The Old Rectory is included for its group value.
