Description
Felthorpe Hall is a country house built around 1825, constructed from gault brick and topped with slate roofs. The original structure has an "L"-shaped plan and consists of two storeys, with the eastern wing housing the entrance and the southern wing ending in an apsidal shape. There are later additions with an irregular layout to the north and diagonally to the northwest, including a three-storey tower situated between the two northern wings. The eastern entrance is positioned between the original east wing, which has three windows, and a later northern wing that features four windows.
The porch is a single storey and includes a moulded doorcase supported by consoles, with a projecting cornice above. It has a flat roof adorned with a moulded timber cornice. The tower showcases a brick dentil cornice and a swept parapet. The south facade is asymmetrical, featuring double parapetted bow windows at the eastern end. The windows are storey-height sash windows with central French casements and fanlights in the bows, along with a sash window with margin lights above the porch. The west facade includes a 1½ storey sash window with a semi-circular head. Other sash windows throughout the building have stone sills, glazing bars, and flat gauged brick arches. The original construction features wide bracketed eaves, while the later sections have parapet eaves. The roofs are hipped, with a gabled dormer above the porch that contains a sash window with margin lights. Gault brick stacks are present on the roof.
