Description
Hillside is a house dating from the mid-17th century and later. It is built of colourwashed brick and features a steep reed-thatched roof. The house has one and a half storeys and follows a lobby entrance plan. There are three widely spaced windows, each with 2-light casements that have a single glazing bar. The entrance door has four flush panels and is set in a wooden surround with plain pilasters, topped by a lead-covered canopy from the early 19th century. A small blocked window opening is located at the south-east corner. The house has two gabled dormers, each with 2-light casements and plain-tiled roofs. A central axial chimney stack is present, and the western bay is dated 1824. There is a 20th-century pantiled lean-to on the north side and a glazed lean-to at the east gable that connects to a single-storey range built of colourwashed brick and pantiles from the 19th century.
