Description
The Old Bakehouse is an 18th-century house located on Back Street in Reepham. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof. This end-of-terrace building has an 'L'-shaped layout and stands two storeys tall with attics. The street-facing side has two windows, both with sash windows that include glazing bars, segmental brick arches, and shutters on the ground floor. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars and timber lintels. The top seven brick courses are corbelled out to create wide timber eaves, and there is a parapet gable with an exterior stack on the east side.
The south wing has an east-facing side with four windows and four half-glazed doors, each with gable porches supported by curved brackets. The fenestration is scattered and includes three sash windows with glazing bars, along with a door on the first floor at the south end. There is a shallow brick pilaster at storey height, brick dentil eaves, and a wedge dormer with glazing bars. The building also features an internal stack and an axial stack at the south hip. The Old Bakehouse is included for its group value.
