Description
Nelson House is an early 18th-century house, extended in the early 19th century. It is now divided into two cottages. The house is constructed of red brick, some of which is colourwashed, with a pantile roof. The northern gable wall includes flintwork. A moulded brick string course marks the first-floor level of the 18th-century section. The building has five windows. A brick plinth is present. The east-facing front has three 19th-century four-panel doors, each with a moulded timber architrave. To the left of the central door is an early 18th-century oak casement window with rectangular quarry lights. A 20th-century casement window is positioned to the left of the left-hand door. The ground-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within segmental brick arches. There are brick corbelled eaves. A southern, decayed gable chimney and an off-centre axial stack are visible. The west elevation features an early 18th-century oak casement with rectangular quarry lights. The southern outbuildings are not of particular architectural interest.
