Description

The Maltings is a building dated 1771, attributed to R Parmeter, located on the west side of Aylsham Hillgate. It is constructed of red brick, with part of the north side rendered. The building features a steeply-pitched pantile roof and stands two storeys high with an attic. The gable is parapetted and exhibits tumbling, while there are brick modillion eaves. The roof includes pantiled 'wedge' dormers fitted with casements. The windows consist of sashes and casements with segmental heads, although some modern metal casements have been added to the north side. Originally built as maltings, the structure has since been converted for other uses.
