Description
The School House is an 18th-century building located on School Road in Lingwood. It is constructed of red brick with dark headers and features a steeply-pitched reed-thatched roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-bay facade to the south. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and architraves, and there is a central doorway that contains a six-panel part-glazed door. This door is framed by a doorcase with an entablature supported by reeded pilasters and has panelled reveals. The window openings are topped with gauged arches. The gables are parapeted and include tumbling in, with stacks present. The attic features tripartite lunettes in the gables, and some leaded glazing can be found in the east gable. Additionally, there is a lower two-storey wing at the north-west corner that has a gabled pantile roof.
