Description

Cowper Congregational Church, located at No 36 on the east side of Market Place, was built between 1873 and 1874 by E Boardman. This stone church is designed in the Gothic style and features a square tower on the northwest side. It was constructed in memory of the poet William Cowper, on the site where he lived and died. The church contributes to the town's character and is part of a group that includes the Dereham Labour Party HQ, The Eagle Inn, Cosy Corner Cafe, and several other nearby buildings.
