Description
The Caledonian Restaurant, located in the north portion of Barclays Bank at 32A Market Place, is a former house that dates back to the 17th century and was refronted in the 18th century. The building is constructed of brick with a pantiled roof and features a pediment and parapet adorned with stone balls. It has six sash windows on the first floor, complete with glazing bars, and two round panels. The structure consists of two storeys and an attic, with a three-storey bay at the back. The ground floor has undergone modern alterations, and there are two segmental-headed dormers along with a half-moon window in the pediment. This building is part of a group that includes the Dereham Labour Party HQ, The Eagle Inn, Cosy Corner Cafe, and several other properties along Market Place.
