Description
35 Market Place is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1756. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick with painted stucco vermiculate rusticated quoins. The building features coupled brackets at the eaves cornice and a slate roof. There are five windows on the second floor, each with segmental heads. An arched passage is located on the left side, leading to a modern shop, while the shop on the right has a wooden case with pilasters and an entablature topped with a mutular cornice. A wide canted window is positioned on the left side of the first floor, with a group of three windows on the right, including a central Palladian window. This building is part of a group that includes the Dereham Labour Party HQ, The Eagle Inn, Cosy Corner Cafe, Nos 29 to 31, Nos 32, 32a, 33, 34, Cowper Congregational Church, and Lloyds Bank.
