Description

No. 43, Earls’ Street is a mid-19th century house and shop. The building is constructed of pebbles and flint with gault brick dressings, and has a pantile roof. It is two storeys high. The ground floor features a mid-19th century plate-glass shop front and a half-glazed door. The first floor has a canted bay window fitted with 2/2 sashes. To the right of the bay window is a single sash window to each floor, with a 1/1 pattern to the ground floor and a 6/6 pattern above. A loading bay is situated to the right, incorporating a pedestrian door beneath a first-floor loading door, the former being set within a segmental arch. The roof is gabled, with internal gable-end stacks to the north and south. The rear of the building has 20th-century fenestration and a two-storey extension.
