Description
The building is a range comprising New Buckenham Antiques and the Post Office, dating from 1598. It is timber framed with rendered wattle and daub infill, which was refaced around 1860 to 1870 in brick with gault brick dressings. The roof is covered with black glazed pantiles and the building has two storeys.
On the ground floor, there is a double fronted shop front to the left featuring a half glazed door. To the right of the shop front, there is a door in a fluted case under a segmental arch. The ground floor also includes a mid-19th century sash window with glazing bars, a 20th century casement window, and a 20th century door. The first floor has three sash windows with glazing bars and one 20th century casement window. The building has a gabled roof with an off-centre axial stack.
At the rear, there are 18th and 19th century outshuts in two builds, and five one-light windows survive under the eaves. The interior features heavy scantling to the stud work and a boxed spine beam. The post office extension to the east is not included in this description.
