Description
The former factory of Charles Burrell and Sons is an early 19th-century building located on Minstergate in Thetford. It is constructed of flint with red brick dressings and features a red brick facade, topped with a pantiled roof. The factory consists of two storeys and is arranged in six bays, with an extension to the southeast that includes two additional two-storey bays and two one-storey bays, all under a gabled pantiled roof.
There are six windows on each floor, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads and arranged in two groups of three. Currently, all windows are boarded up. The extension has one bay with similar windows, and the southeast bay includes a pedestrian door at ground level, although this bay is without a roof. There is also a single-bay extension to the southeast featuring two segmental windows and a doorway. The main block has a gabled roof, and there is a flint and brick return on the northwest side. At the rear, there is a factory cross wing that also has a gabled pantile roof. The interior has not been inspected.
